Wearable robotic glove infused with elastomeric technology
Transform the stroke recovery experience
Inspired by PneuNet Actuators
Robotic glove utilizes air pressure to generate movement
Low-impact physical therapy tool
PRODUCT
DigiBot is a wearable robotic glove, designed to rehabilitate the loss of function in the arms- an outcome commonly experienced by stroke survivors. Internally, the device is composed of elastomeric materials that inflate when pressurized, generating the movement of the robotic hand and allowing for voluntary movement. DigiBot contains a soft and lightweight exterior for comfort and ease of use.
The road to recovery through DigiBot’s unique technology involves two phases:
Phase I:
The patient will use the DigiBot glove and accompanying virtual reality software to perform simple tasks (i.e., lifting and grasping) in a virtually simulated environment.
Phase II:
Once the patient begins to retrain the simple functions of their hand, they will be required to carry out more complex movements (i.e., gripping and throwing a ball) with the assistance of only the DigiBot glove, in a real and non-simulated setting.
